From programming in COBOL and C++ as a kid to redesigning his own smart home in North Haven, Claas Abraham has always been drawn to fixing things — especially when it comes to making technology feel effortless and intuitive.
I’ve always believed that Technology should simplify life — not complicate it.
HOW HARBORHAUS BEGAN
In 2019, Claas purchased his current home in North Haven and, like many homeowners, quickly discovered a frustrating reality: you either had to invest in a clunky, overpriced smart home platform or settle for a confusing mix of disconnected devices.
SO, HE BUILT SOMETHING BETTER.
Installed a reliable Ubiquiti network with failover broadband
Updated the alarm system with touchscreen UIs including access control
Replaced classic light switches with an Insteon System
Automated window shades, awnings and climate control

Public Service, Same Philosophy
Since 2022, Claas has also served as Trustee and Deputy Mayor of the Village of North Haven. In that role, he’s led key infrastructure upgrades:
