A 10,000 sq ft historic home built in 1895 on Shelter Island was struggling with poor Wi-Fi coverage, self-installed security cameras, and a non-functional Crestron audio system. The IT room contained two 48U racks filled with obsolete equipment, including an outdated analog phone system. The property also relied on 12 aging televisions, each with its own cable box, resulting in broadband and television costs approaching $900 per month.

What We Did
Removed the entire legacy network, Wi-Fi, camera, and audio infrastructure.
Decommissioned the non-functional Crestron system and obsolete analog phone equipment.
Rewired and reorganized the IT room, retaining one of the original 48U racks while reducing active equipment to approximately 20U.
Installed LTE broadband failover for uninterrupted internet connectivity.
Installed 6 new Samsung Q8F and S90F QLED/OLED televisions.
Migrated television service to YouTube TV, eliminating cable boxes and simplifying operation throughout the home.
Removed all coax splitters and legacy coax distribution; only the broadband modem remains connected to coax.
Installed a UniFi Dream Machine Pro, Switch Pro 48 PoE, Switch Flex, and Switch Ultra switches.
Deployed 12 UniFi U7 Pro, U7 Pro Wall, and U7 Pro Outdoor access points to provide complete indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage.
Installed 7 UniFi G6 cameras and a UniFi NVR with 16TB of storage for centralized video surveillance.
Positioned one camera overlooking Shelter Island Sound, allowing homeowners to enjoy live 4K views of the waterfront and sunsets from any TV, computer, or web browser.
Added LTE failover WAN services for increased network resilience.

Rebuilt the home's audio system with 11 Sonos zones for synchronized music throughout the property.
