Whole-Home Wi-Fi 7 Network & TV Modernization
📄 What We Did:
This Southampton residence was originally equipped with a consumer-grade mesh Wi-Fi system and a large number of Optimum cable boxes distributed throughout the home. While functional, the setup was cluttered, maintenance-heavy, and increasingly unnecessary given modern streaming capabilities.
HarborHaus designed and deployed a UniFi enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 7 network, transforming the home’s connectivity from a patchwork solution into a unified, high-performance infrastructure. Existing coaxial and legacy phone wiring was re-purposed where possible using advanced PoE-over-2-wire technology, with new Ethernet runs installed where required to ensure maximum performance, reliability, and future-proofing.
As part of the upgrade, all Optimum cable boxes were completely removed, and every television in the home was transitioned to streaming-only operation. With a properly engineered Wi-Fi 7 wireless backbone, the home now supports simultaneous high-bandwidth streaming on all TVs—eliminating unnecessary hardware and resulting in a significant reduction in monthly cable costs.
The result is a clean, modern, and highly reliable whole-home network built around UniFi Wi-Fi 7 hardware, including a UniFi gateway, managed PoE switching, and U7 Pro Wall Wi-Fi 7 access points strategically deployed to deliver strong, consistent coverage in every room of the house. By leveraging PoE-over-2-wire retrofit extenders on existing coax and phone lines—supplemented with new Ethernet where necessary—the system now provides modern-day gigabit-class wireless speeds throughout the home, supporting streaming, smart-home systems, and future technology without reliance on traditional cable-TV infrastructure.
